USB Wacom 2012

Postby Eugene Gorbunoff » Tue Sep 11, 2012 02:42

Hello Wim

several messages:

1) Thinkpad stylus is compatible with this laptops:
viewtopic.php?f=42&t=8634&p=16408#p16408
so.. seems that your wacom drivers are compatible with all this devices.

2) Thinkpad X61 Tablet - there are several models.
some models are supported by your x61 script,
other work with x200 script.
So.. it's necessary give other names to the scripts.

3) Are you sure that Wacom calibration used in your scripts is comfortable to use?
Let's make users calibrate with other utility or script.
and don't change the settings during the work of main script.

4) Can you query the pressure of the pen?
I understand that we don't have good graphics editor..

Hello Eugene,

Yes, I think so too when these are Wacom Penabled accessed via a COM port.

2) Thinkpad X61 Tablet - there are several models.
some models are supported by your x61 script,
other work with x200 script.
So.. it's necessary give other names to the scripts.

These scripts are named by the original model used for testing. It may be possible to write only one script that supports all models. Even better would be to write a supporting program instead. If I only had time...

3) Are you sure that Wacom calibration used in your scripts is comfortable to use?
Let's make users calibrate with other utility or script.
and don't change the settings during the work of main script.

In fact not that comfortable. Good suggestion. Result of calibration could be passed to the supporting program as arguments or by using a control file.

4) Can you query the pressure of the pen?
I understand that we don't have good graphics editor..

The pressure of the pen is available in the scripts. It cannot be passed via xsmouse.sys to the system. Pressure could be passed via Pen for OS/2. Embellish supports pressure via Pen for OS/2. Queency has also some kind of pressure support.

Regards, Wim.
