usbser.sys

Postby cssw » Mon Feb 12, 2007 03:41

I have been trying to use usbser.sys, I was attempting to use with the following devices:
prolific pl2303 with no sucess.

With belkin f5u103, this works with injoy and dialup , but NOT with faxworks.

belkin F5U109, will work initially with injoy and dialup but when an error occurs one has to disconnect usb to recover.

I would be particularly interested in making the F5U109 work well without having to unplug the usb cable (to much to ask customers to do and not remotely recoverable), As well as have it work sucessfully with faxWorks.

any have the above solved or working reliabily???

thanks

usbser.sys

I just download a new usbser.sys, it appears this one actually works with
f5u109 with faxworks, I still have the issue once injoy has error with
device I have to unplug to recover.

Next question I just plugged in a second f5u109, I am really interested in
having at least 3 com ports in the machine, however I do not see a com3
when plugging this in, is it possible to get usbser.sys to see 2 ports (com2 and com3)
and be able to use them?????

thanks

I just retried with one from hobbes, USBRES mgr does see
Prolific Technology, Inc PL2303 Serial Port 03.00

this is on an actiontec usb/serial external modem,
using straight serial works however plugging in directly to usb on modem
to directly usb on back of ecs Workstation, produces with injoy:
'opening port' which never opens
with faxWorks: I get fax modem on 'com5' does not respond correctly

I am loading with usbcom.sys
usbcom.sys /V /N:COM5

(I am using from hobbes) 11-21-04 1:05a 20,249 0 a--- usbcom.sys

doing a mode i get
[F:\os2\boot]mode com5
baud = 2400 parity = NONE
databits = 8 stopbits = 1
TO = OFF XON = OFF
IDSR = OFF ODSR = OFF
OCTS = OFF DTR = ON
RTS = ON BUFFER = N/A

[F:\os2\boot]

any one have suggestions

thanks
