What does this error indicate? It happens immediately on trying to boot (before the logo).

I had a nasty crash which caused a lengthy CHKDSK to occur. After reboot, the entire \OS2 tree was under 'lost+found'. After renaming ALL the files and directories (ugh - booted from CD) I was able to reboot after rewriting the MBR. BUT... next time I booted, it ran chkdsdk again and I had to rename everything again - it appears to remain dirty even after chkdsk (even though it is marked clean). This time I zipped the OS2 tree for the next time...

Next boot, sure enough chkdsk ran again and the OS2 tree was put into lost+found again. This time I unzipped the saved OS2 tree into a new \OS2 directory (while booted from a CD) and rewrote the MBR. After rebooting I get the above error. The file system appears to be clean and all files are available.

Any ideas?

Boot has't this error. This has:

ErrorReOpen db 'JFSBOOT: Error reopening file ',0
ErrorMount db 'JFSBOOT: Error remounting JFS drive',0
ErrorReadMFS db 'JFSBOOT: Read error during MFS stage ',0
ErrorReadFS db 'JFSBOOT: Error reading in FS ',0
ErrorReadIAG db 'JFSBOOT: Error reading IAG ',0
ErrorVersion db 'JFSBOOT: Incorrect JFS.IFS version. Use original eComstation CD ',0
ErrorSB db 'JFSBOOT: Error reading Super Block ',0
ErrorReadBoot db 'JFSBOOT: Error reading Boot Block ',0
ErrorHack db 'JFSBOOT: Internal error in FreeGDTSelector ',0

What you see from this ?

Pasha,

Here is exactly what appears on my screen when I try to boot. It appears immediately after the eCS boot blob. I am using the 3/11/06 version of JFS:

The system detected an internal processing error at
location ##1200:04ba - 0002:04ba
65535, 9051
JFSBOOT: Error reading in MFS
0886090f
Internal revision 14.104a_W4

The system is stopped. Record all of the above information and
contact your service representative.

I can take a picture and send it to you if you like.

Pasha,

I decided to re-install eCS.... sorry - I can't photo that screen anymore. If it comes up again I'll let you know.
