Intel 945GM support?

Postby cgehr » Sat Nov 03, 2007 18:26

When I use PCI.Exe to extract hardware, I see the following for 945GM:

********************************* TOP OF DATA **************************
--------------------------- 9 LINE(S) NOT DISPLAYED --------------------
Bus 0 (PCI Express), Device Number 0, Device Function 0
Vendor 8086h Intel Corporation
Device 27A0h 955XM/945GM/PM/GMS/940GML Express Processor to DRAM Contro
--------------------------- 11 LINE(S) NOT DISPLAYED -------------------
Bus 0 (PCI Express), Device Number 2, Device Function 0
Vendor 8086h Intel Corporation
Device 27A2h Mobile 945GM/GU Express Integrated Graphics Controller
--------------------------- 22 LINE(S) NOT DISPLAYED -------------------
Bus 0 (PCI Express), Device Number 2, Device Function 1
Vendor 8086h Intel Corporation
Device 27A6h Mobile 945GM/GU Express Integrated Graphics Controller
-------------------------- 608 LINE(S) NOT DISPLAYED -------------------
******************************** BOTTOM OF DATA ************************

Panorama indicates support for 27A2, but not 27A6. From the description, they seem to provide the same function, but have different device codes. I don't understand PC hardware and really do not need to; OTHER than knowing if my system is supported.

What is the difference between these two? Before I go to the effort of installing the package on my TPad T60, is it supported? Should I expect problems?

Thanks!
Carl

Better use SNAP for this notebook.

Panorama VESA will work fine on any Intel GMA

Sorry if I am confused...

First you say, Panorama "...will work fine on any Intel GMA..." but you say I should not use it for this notebook. This seems to be a contradiction.

The reason I am asking is because I understand that APCI and GenMac require Panorama to have suspenc and other full power management functions.
