Panorama 20070716 blank screen

Postby David McKenna » Fri Aug 17, 2007 21:24

This is the first time I have tried Panorama on my Gateway 7405GX laptop (ATI 9600, 1002:4E50 video, 15" widescreen LCD 1280x800, eCS 2.0rc1, w4 kernal). After install, the computer seems to boot fine (the WPS startup sound is heard, lots of disk activity) but the screen goes blank when the WPS should appear. VBE2GRAD.LOG seems to show that Panorama was loaded. Any hints what may be wrong - I also tried /LS:0 switch in ACPI with no change.

*do you see desktop if connect external monitor?

* How to convince that VBE2GRAD is loaded?
* x:\os2\install\gradd.log
should contain: "Module VBE2GRAD loaded successfully"

Hi Eugene,

>*do you see desktop if connect external monitor?

When external monitor is connected, it drops video sync at the moment the WPS would normally appear and so is blank.

Yes... that is exactly what gradd.log says (booted to command line after failed Panorama boot).

I have now tried the 20070827 version, and it also boots to a blank screen. I tried renaming pmi1002.dll but it did not help. GRADD.LOG says the module VBE2GRAD was loaded successfully.
