20070513: Text is much smaller

Postby Alan Beagley » Thu May 17, 2007 05:46

Panorama-Vesa 20070510 worked fine and left all the text the same size. With 20070513 all the text everywhere on the system is smaller and dialog boxes and command-line windows are correspondingly smaller.

Now I have to wear my glasses more in order to read what's on the screen. How do I fix this problem?

This depends on PANOGREX.DLL, Disable it or configure it.

It loads variables from os2*.ini and passes to GRAD

Pay attention to panogrex.cmd, It changes DPI to 120.

List of variables:
CharWidth="8"
CharHeight="14"
SmallCharHeight="8"
SmallCharWidth="8"
GraphCharWidth="13"
GraphCharHeight="13"

HorizontalFontRes="96"
VerticalFontRes="96"

This is the same as SDD settings:
SET SDDFONTSIZE=[small | medium | large]
SET SDDFONTDPI=[96 | 120]

Eugene,
I have the same problem.

I tried changing from 120 to 96 DPI to get back to the original setup, but the result is an even smaller font.

So I tried to delete all the PANOGREX settings from OS2.INI apart for the shadowbuffer setting, but after a reboot nothing was changed, as if it remembered somehow the settings.

Then I tried setting all the parameters as per your message, then rebooted. Once again nothing changed (still tiny fonts).

What do I have to do? Yes, I could disable PANOGREX, but there HAS to be a way to keep it and have the font settings as before.
Could you please detail which PANOGREX settings correspond to each of the SDD settings? And what are the defaults?

For example: if I want to have the same effect as
SET SDDFONTSIZE=medium
SET SDDFONTDPI=96
which are the parameters and values I should put into PANOGREX?

Thankyou!
Bye

Cris
