Where can I find the Jul-20 beta? In the eCS Betazone the latest version I can download is from Jul-4. I see some important difference between your and my log file. Between the line starting with "StartPMt Status" and the following line starting with "Send: IRQ9" you have a lot more text. [...] Warm...

Kernel sets shareable flags only once during bootup, according to the information it receives from os2ldr through function doshelp.30. See also the EDM/2 article from David C. Zimmerli "OS2KRNL and OS2LDR - the secret handshake". Finally the "shareable" flags are only single bits in the IRQI table. ...

Geert: can you post here the log output from ACPICA with high irq and REMAP enabled? TYPE ACPICA$ > acpica.log Maybe I can find out what is different. I still can't get high irq mode working. With a bit of tweaking, the boot process goes successfully through basedev and device driver load phase, the...

Pasha wrote:You need use REMAP rule for remap IRQ for SATA.
for example, my acpi.cfg for boot with SATA:
REMAP 22 TO 11
REMAP 19 TO 5

I tried it already before. Unfortunately REMAP has no effect at all. SATA still reports high irq and does not boot up.

IRQ sharing?

I wrote a small tool (basedev) to check IRQ availibility to device drivers and sharing. For all IRQs 0..23 it tries to hook the IRQ first "shared" and if not available then "exclusive", finally it will release the hooked IRQs. When running it early in the basedev load phase, I get the following resu...

I'm wondering why your AGP irq is in the low irq range? Did you remap it to irq5?
Unfortunately I cannot try out high irq mode, as my sata boot disk hangs whenever I switch to APIC mode, even trying to remap the SATA irq to the original irq11.

APIC mode with SATA boot disk?

Is there any chance to test APIC (high irq) mode on a dual core computer having SATA boot disk?
The SATA controller (Intel ICH7) is recognized by DANIS506.ADD only, but not by IBM1S506.ADD and not by IBMINT13.I13.
So far the ACPI driver only works with /SMP /PIC options.

Re: IRQ Remapping experience

Hardware manager does'nt keep the "full hardware" status Hardware detection level is managed by the WPS, by writing a file named "\os2\boot\previous.dat" -- or deleting it in case of full detection. Unfortunately this feature is broken in eCS 2.0 beta: WPS will always create a previous.dat file. As...
